Police are working extra hard to keep everyone safe on the roads this weekend, as part of the I-90/94 Challenge.
Law enforcement from 15 states are taking part in the initiative that zeros in on speeding, drunk driving, and distracted driving.
In our area, state police are partnering up with other law enforcement agencies to put extra patrols on the roads. The goal is to have zero fatalities.
“If you've been drinking, or are speeding, or driving in an aggressive manner, your putting not only yourself in harms way but the people you care about in your vehicle in harms way as well," said New York State Trooper, Mark O'Donnell.
The four day initiative stretches from the West Coast to the East Coast. It ends on Monday.
