A historic church in the South Wedge is getting some much needed TLC.
Cavalry St. Andrews suffered water damage over the winter and their insurance didn't cover the cost for the repairs. Now "old school painting" has stepped in to help renovate the church.
"There are some repairs we're making; we're cleaning the water damage of course, but most of what we're doing is cosemtic," explained Alex Estremera, Old School Painting's Project Manager. "What we're trying to do is bring the colors back from the historical time of the church. It was built in the late 1800s and they used a lot of bold colors back then."
The project is expected to be finished in August.
