Hearing Loss Fading Away?

Widespread hearing loss may become a thing of a past. In a study of the hearing of 5,275 adults born between 1902 and 1962, researchers at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health discovered baby boomers are retaining their hearing longer than previous generations.

According to the results of the study, hearing impairment rates were almost a third lower in baby boomers across all age groups.

The conclusions we can draw from this study suggests are intriguing. For one thing, they downplay the significant of headphones and loud music as a factor for hearing loss, as well as suggest the possibility that age-related hearing loss is not inevitable.
