A fatal accident involving a dump truck occurred near the intersection of Union St (Route 259) and Stony Point Road in the town of Ogden.
The dump truck was southbound on Union St. The second vehicle was eastbound on Stony Point attempting to make a left turn (northbound) onto Union St. The collision caused a third vehicle to be hit as well.
Spencerport Fire Department freed a total of five people who had been trapped in both cars. Those people were transported to the hospital, four of whom did not suffer life threatening injuries. The driver of the dump truck was treated and released at the scene. However, one person, the driver of the vehicle involved in the first collision, was pronounced dead later in the day. She is identified as Teresa Devlin, 27 years of age, of Chicago, Illinois.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Ogden Police Department in this investigation which is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
