Warsaw, N.Y.(WROC)-  Deputy County Clerk Roxanne Ingles, 59, was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, Tampering with Public Records in the First Degree, and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree. She was arraigned in Warsaw Town Court.

Ingles, while working at the Motor Vehicle’s Office, allegedly stole over $80,000.00 between July of 2013 and August of 2014.  “The case is ongoing and further charges are possible pending the outcome of further investigation and a comprehensive audit,” said Gregory Rudolph, Wyoming County Sheriff.  Donald O’Geen, Wyoming County District Attorney,  “These types of cases are becoming all too frequent whether it is a public office or a private company. Businesses and state and local auditors need to be doing a better job of overseeing the flow of these large sums of money. Checks and balances should be in place at every level. This should have never been allowed to happen at this scale.”

Ingles resigned her position on Tuesday.
