Doctors say the change is much needed. Marc Brown, a professor of Dermatology said, "Initially it wasn't really clear what the overall risk would be but more and more studies are showing now that there's a signicant increase risk in skin cancer, especially melanoma, for people who use tanning beds on a regular basis."
The American Academy of Dermatology says studies have shown people who have been exposed to UV rays from indoor tanning have a 59 percent increase of developing melanoma.
