One little boy's courage is inspiring a new youth scholarship.

Eight year old Tyler Doohan died earlier this year in a fire in Penfield. Police say he ran back into his burning home to save his family but he never made it out. A benefit show was held Saturday at the California brew house on West Ridge Road. Ten local music acts performed. All local proceeds will help set up a scholarship fund in Tyler's memory.

"It's a fantastic thing, and it's a tragedy what happened," founder of People Helping People Brock Thrasher said. "We are trying to make a memory go on."

The fundraiser is part of the "Brave Heart Fest," a benefit that sets up scholarship funds for youth who have been through extreme situations in life.
