"Roc Acts" is an interfaith group bringing together urban and suburban congregations from the Rochester area with one lofty goal; to bring about systematic change in the greater Rochester area.
"We feel very strongly that our faith communities can be very much involved in the problem-solving process in the Rochester area," parishioner Carlos Garcia said.
Garcia said the congregations will meet regularly to discuss issues like poverty, violence, and education. The aim of those meetings will be to pinpoint specific problems and then work together in groups that may not usually interact to find viable solutions.
