A Geneseo Staple is getting a major renovation in Livingston county. The Riviera theatre on 4 Center street was built in 1914 but it has fallen into disrepair over the last 20 years. Don Livingston bought the theatre last year with big plans in mind. With help from a $150,000 dollar state grant, he wants to restore the building to its former glory. Don said, "You want it to be a place where you come to where not only do you see a show or a performance it's a destination you want the building to be something you remember as well as what you saw there."
Livingston says he wants to finish the $280,000 dollar renovation by the end of 2014. The theatre turns 100 years old this year and the village is planning on a huge opening celebration.
