UR Medicine opened up a surgical suite to include a Channel 8 camera and crew, that beamed back the live pictures of Kevin Doran's colonoscopy.
Gastroenterologist Dr. Thomas Werth performed the procedure, and UR Medicine's Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Dr. Vivek Kaul, explained what was happening.  Kevin's colonoscopy took a matter of minutes.  Dr. Werth found and removed a polyp, but says Kevin is in otherwise good health.   Colon cancer is the second most common cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. and it's entirely preventable if it's detected at an early stage.  A lot of people shy away from colonoscopies, but they save lives.
