Residents from around the Joseph Avenue neighborhood were feeling fine and reflective today at the Joseph Avenue Community Festival.

This is the fourth year the Joseph Avenue Business Association has thrown the event.  With free food, games, pony rides, and more, organizers say it's a great way to give back to the community during a critical time of remembrance.

"It's very significant because this week is the 50 year anniversary of the uprising that occurred in 1964 on Joseph Avenue," explained Joseph Avenue Business Association President, Sherman Dickerson.  "It's very symbolic to know that we're trying to bring back stability, not just to the neighborhood, but to this forgotten corner."

The Rochester Fire Department brought a smoke house to the festival, and the Seneca Park Zoo brought a Zoo Mobile, so it was an all-inclusive day for free, local fun.
