If its true, it may allow the Toronto group to significantly strengthen its bid. Bon Jovi had wanted to be principle owner in the buying process meaning he must put up 30% of the purchase price. But with Bon Jovi out, the deeper pockets Larry Tannenbaum and Rogers Communications can assemble a much richer bid.
Whether it's enough to steal the team from Terry Pegula remains to be seen.
