Monroe County Sheriff Deputies say once arriving on scene, they found two cars: a gray, 2008 Toyota RAV4 and a black, 2012 Ford Focus. Both vehicals were in the intersection with heavy damage. The driver of the Toyota, 51-year-old, Lisa A. Welk of Henrietta, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 15-year-old daughter was found unconscious in the back seat, but regained consciousnesses at the scene and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
The driver and only person in the Ford Focus, 25-year-old Amanda M. Hunt, was also found unconscious. Hunt later regained consciousnesses and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, and is said to be in satisfactory condition.
Deputies believe Hunt was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Sheriffs say a witness had seen a vehicle matching Huts, speeding and passing cars over a double solid line westbound on Calkins Road.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
