Marching bands from all across the country are in the Flower City this week, competing in the Drum Corps Associates Championship. The D.C.A. Championship is considered one the most prestigious tournaments to win for bands. Tourism officials say it's great news that every tuba and triangle player is spending money in Rochester.
"On Labor Day Weekend, where typically you exit and go visit family and friends in other cities, we have five to six thousand people converging on Rochester, staying in our hotels and eating at our restaurants," said Gregory LaDuca of VisitRochester. "That's great for the city."
The competition goes all week.
