About 7,000 people banded together Saturday in the fight against heart disease.

It was the 24th annual Heart Walk, all to raise money for the American Heart Association. Coordinators say one out of every three adults in the United States has some form of heart disease. The event helps people take the first step to a healthy life.

"Eighty percent of it is preventable so what we are really saying is let's build some awareness and this is our step to cardiovascular health and start to reverse some aspects of these diseases," executive leadership team member Lisa Fawcett said.

Saturday's heart walk raised $632,000.
