Pools throughout the region were closed off Friday, and instructors gave free swim lessons for kids ages six to fifteen. At each pool, swim teachers trained teams that came together and competed in a day full of fun activities.
"We want obviously to teach kids to swim; that's a big part of it," explained Anthony Dreas, who works at the Genesee Vally Pool. "We have people from all over different parts of the city. This is an opportunity to bring kids together from all across the city in one place and have good clean fun."
Nine different teams competed in this year's Aqua Fest.
