The new students moved in to their dorms Friday. The school is welcoming more than 1,100 freshmen and more than 900 transfer students. Freshmen say they are excited for the next phase of their education.
"I'm expecting new things," said freshmen, Kenny Stables. "I want to join some clubs and get a feel for it; hopefully I'll like it. It's a good sized campus and that's what I want."
The college's president, John Halstead, announced his pending retirement this week. Halstead intended on welcoming the new students with a special surprise... by participating in the A.L.S. Ice Bucket Challenge shortly after noon.
