The confession of a man charged with killing his girlfriend in her SUNY Brockport dorm room is going to be made public.

Supreme Court Justice Daniel Doyle made the decision Thursday to release two video statements from Whittemore. The Utica-area man was interrogated once by New York State Police and again by the Monroe County Sheriff's office. According to court documents, Whitemore confessed to beating and choking 21-year-old Alex Kogut after they returned from an off-campus party. His trial is set to begin on March 31st.
