 Too fat to fly.

That's how Southwest Airlines originally described Hollywood director and actor Kevin Smith.  So he took his fight against the airline online for millions of people to watch.

Smith was flying standby on a Southwest flight over the weekend.  He was the last person to board the plane and was asked to leave for allegedly being too fat to fly.

He was eventually seated on another flight and took a picture of himself once he'd been seated.  Then he launched a number of heated tweets Southwest's way.  One message read: "The @SouthwestAir Diet. How it works: you're publicly shamed into a slimmer figure. Crying the weight right off has never been easier!"

The fight drew a lot of support from his 1.6 million fans online.  Southwest apologized in a blog post but it didn't go far enough for Smith.  He wanted them to retract their "too fat to fly" statement.  He says he fit fine in the seat and wasn't a problem.  Smith finally did speak with a company representative on the phone but they still haven't budged on their "customer size" policy .

It look like Smith wants to end the fight anyway.  His latest blog post calls the fight fruitless.
