At the Dansville High School chorus class, Sabrina Curtis invited us to listen in as she performed a German song by Schubert called "Grethen Spinnerade."

It is her talent that is turning heads. Sabrina is a the first ever Dansville student to be selected to sing in the American Choral Directors Association All-Eastern Choir.

"I sing here, I sleep here, eat here, live here. It's my life. I don't know what I would do without it. In fact last year at this time I didn't know it at the time but I had bronchitis. I couldn't sing for about a month and a half. I was on the verge of panicking because I didn't think I would ever sing again and it scared me," she said. "Because when I think of my future it's always music, it's always singing, it's what I plan to do with my life."

Vocal music director Anthony D'Agostino says Sabrina is one of the most confident students he has ever known.

"She's a wonderful ambassador to the music department at Dansville Central School District and her parents should be very proud," he said.

"I love singing because it's a way to expres yourself, you don't always need words and it's just, it's great," Curtis said.

Sabrina plans on studying music therapy, but has not yet decided on a college. Her hope is to work in a clinical setting in Rochester. Her dream is to perform professionally and she is making that real every time she sings.
