A Brooklyn man who had recently separated from his wife and was sharing custody of their three-year-old son threw the boy from the roof of a 52-story Manhattan high-rise on Sunday before jumping to his death moment later. The 35-year-old man was killed immediately by the fall. The boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but died shortly after arrival. Investigators are still looking into why they believe the man would kille the boy and himself.

The first day of winter felt more like the first day of spring in New York City. Central park was filled with people enjoying the warmer weather. New York City hit 65 degrees Saturday, setting a new record high for the day. That beat the old record of 62, set back in 2011. But the record warmth is not sticking around long. Temperature will plummet back into the 30s Christmas Eve.
