It has been nearly two weeks since a train derailment in New York left four people dead and dozens more hurt. Now the Department of Transportation's Federal Railroad Administration is announcing it is launching a 60-day assessment in response to the disaster. The investigation will be called "Operation Deep Dive." They will look at Metro-North's compliance with federal regulations, procedures, practices and safety culture.

It has been a big decade for tourism in the Big Apple. In 2002, the city had 35 million visitors. In 2013, the city has welcomed a record 54.3 million visitors, an increase of nearly 54 percent. This year visitors generated nearly $60 billion, which directly reduced taxes. Tourism has also been credited with creating more than 300,000 jobs.
