One of the biggest changes is that the essay portion of the exam will be optional. The test will include three sections- reading and writing, math and the essay. But the essay portion will be graded on a separate scale. Overall scoring will drop from 2400 back to 1600, and there will be no penalty for wrong answers. The new test will be available to students in spring 2016. It will be administered by print and computer.
