New York Minute: December 19th

- A New York construction worker was injured after a crane toppled onto its side Wednesday afternoon in Mineola. News 12 Long Island reports the operator jumped out of the cab after it began leaning. He was not seriously hurt. There was no foot traffic in the area because the road and sidewalk were blocked off at the time. No word yet on what caused the crane to fall. 

A New York man is being called a hero after catching two babies dropped from the second floor of a burning apartment building in New York City Thursday. Mail carrier Jermaine Shirley not only saved the twins but also knocked on doors of the apartment building, alerting residents of the fire. He was walkign to work when he noticed the flames. Due to Shirley's quick thinking everyone made it out of the building safe.
