Magic City Set to Reopen

- Rochester, NY (WROC) - The city has announced that the East End bar, Magic City, will reopen its doors starting Friday.  Last month, the Rochester nightclub shut down after several violent incidents.  The bar puts itself on a voluntary 30 day suspension.  Magic City will now reopen after an agreement was made with the city to beef-up the business' security.

There are mixed emotions in the neighborhood about the night club coming back.  One person that works down the street from the club, predicts that the business will be closed again within a week despite the increased security.  Another resident says he's fine with club re-opening, just as long as things remain calm after hours.

The city did a final walk through of Magic City Thursday morning.  "We actually have reviewed Magic City's new policies," explained the City of Rochester's Commissioner of Neighborhood and Business Development, Del Smith.  "We have done a thorough walk through of their facility and they have met all the conditions set fourth in our memorandum of understanding."

Magic City will now re-open with new metal detectors, video ID scanners and security cameras..
