Local Woman Pleads Guilty to Murder

- Rochester, N.Y.(WROC)-  Joanne Armour has pled guilty to 2nd Degree murder for the beating death of Lacandace Miles in December of 2013. Armour, who was a roommate of Miles, bludgeoned her to death inside the victim’s home in Strathmore Circle Apartments in Irondequoit.  Armour then fled and remained at large for three weeks until she was arrested in Chicago by members of the Irondequoit Police Department.

Mary Randall, prosecuted the case, “Just days before Christmas in 2013, Joanne Armour savagely took the life of a member of our community, leaving four young children without their mother,” said Randall. “While this conviction won’t return Ms. Miles to her family, it will at least provide them with a sense of closure while removing a dangerous individual from our streets. I’d like to extend a special thanks to the Irondequoit Police Department, whose tireless work and determination helped lead to today’s outcome, as well as Monroe County Child Protective Services and Bivona Child Advocacy Center for the invaluable assistance they provided to the victim’s children in the wake of this terrible crime.”

Armour is expected to receive 18 to 20 Years to Life in prison when she is sentenced on September 10th.
