U of R celebrates Wilson Day

The event is a community-wide service project for incoming freshman students

Rochester, NY - A University of Rochester tradition continues.  Wilson Day is a community-wide service project for incoming freshmen students.

Nearly 1,300 students are placed at nearly 100 agencies throughout the city of Rochester and perform a variety of tasks including washing chalkboards, painting houses, landscaping, and playing bingo in nursing homes.

"I think its a great idea," said freshman Allison Morningstar.  "It's a great way to know the city."

The U of R has taken part in Wilson Day for the past 25 years.
