Travel advisories posted for winter storm

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - Travel advisories have been posted for several area counties.

Ontario County Sheriff's Office ask motorists to drive with extreme caution as hazardous conditions and snow drifts could be encountered, and some roads may still be covered in snow. It's also asked that motorists take extreme caution while driving on the highways.

The Wayne County Sheriff issued travel advisories, as well, due to heavy snow.

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo says main roads are passable, but side streets are a challenge, and encourages folks to stay home if possible, and otherwise give yourself extra time to get to your destination.

Sheriff Spike of Yates County tweeted "Issued a recommend no unnecessary travel advisory for Yates County - until further notice - heavy snow overnight and highway crews are out plowing."
