ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - The annual “21 Stories for Scouts” challenge returns this year, but with some big changes.
Volunteers traditionally rappel down the side of the First Federal Building in downtown Rochester. But this year, the event will take place on the side of the iconic Kodak Tower on State Street.
On May 18th, participants will lower themselves 300 feet to the new MCC Downtown Campus below.
"The event allows us to be a kid again," says Steve Hoyt, Boy Scouts of America. "Since we started, 460 rappelers have rappelled over the years.”
To rappel, you must raise $1,000 and weigh at least 100 pounds. All the proceeds fund afterschool programs and summer camp experiences.
