ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - Preparation for one of Ronald McDonald House Charities largest fundraisers of the year began Saturday.
Thousands of people dropped off items at their curbside donation event for the annual fall household sale.
The fundraiser runs from September 26-30 and people can pick up anything from antiques to furniture all benefiting a good cause.
At the spring household sale, they raised more than $460,000, which is something they hope to do again next month.
"Because of our events and our sale event, we were able to reach over two thousand families in 2016 -- and provide a home away from home. It really makes me happy to be seeing people out here willing to give and help us fulfill our mission," said Mike Evans, Director of Household Sale at the RMHC.
All proceeds from the sale help provide homes for families in the midst of a crisis.
