Rochester woman charged with Avenue E arson

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - A Rochester woman has been charged with arson after allegedly starting a fire in an occupied house on Avenue E in September.

Investigators say Maria Acosta, 25, started a fire at 101 Avenue E during a dispute over a recent eviction. Fire crews arrived and found the second floor on fire and all of the occupants out of the house.

No injuries were reported, but the single family house suffered extensive second-floor fire damage.

Acosta is currently in the Monroe County Jail awaiting arraignment.
