Rochester refugee group awarded $200K grant

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - Refugees Helping Refugees has received a $199,991 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement.

The group, founded in 2002, is a volunteer-based not-for-profit organization in Rochester that provides services to refugees to facilitate successful transition to life in the U.S. and help them attain self-sufficiency. Services include ESOL classes, case management, healthy living programs, vocational training, senior services, work experience programs, and legal counseling.

The group will use the funding to expand these efforts, including offering programs for children and the elderly.
