Rochester police investigate officer-involved shooting

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - Rochester police are investigating after one of their own was involved in a shooting late Sunday night.
It happened on Wilkins Street between Portland and N. Clinton avenues just before 10:30 p.m.
According to a press release from the Rochester Police Department, officers encountered a group of people on Wilkins Street and an "altercation" ensued that resulted in a person being shot.
The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for a non life-threatening injuries.
The officer involved was not injured.
Police did not say if the victim was shot by the officer, only that a firearm was recovered at the scene.
A press conference is set for Monday morning.
Rochester Police are conducting an investigation on Wilkins Street in Rochester. There is a large police presence.
