ROC the Future offers ReadyRosie app to engage parents

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - A new mobile learning unit is available for parents of Rochester City School District students.

ReadyRosie is an early education mobile app designed to help schools and communities improve parent engagement by using videos and technology to equip parents with learning tools wherever they are.

When registered for the app, parents receive text messages and videos on their smartphones to help them engage with their children.

"The goal for ReadyRosie right now is to work through our pre-K community and early pre-K providers,” said Jackie Campbell, director of ROC the Future Alliance. “But how do we move beyond that to engage our faith community, to engage the businesses in our neighborhoods?"

City of Rochester parents may register with ReadyRosie for free online by visiting  www.readyrosie.com/register.
