Encouraging women to explore a career in Computer Engineering

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - RIT is trying to encourage women to get into the field of computer technology.  Sunday they held the annual WiC-hacks tournament.

Around 100 women turned out to get show off their hacking skills.

The ladies started yesterday afternoon, and went through the night building computer projects that could potentially handle different issues in the world, or even explore their own passion projects.

Those who competed range in age from 16 to 26. There were prizes in a variety of categories, from most innovative, to best gender issue solution.
