ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - UPDATE: Police have identified the victim as 39-year-old Akeata Terry of Rochester. Officers say the driver will not face charges for the crash.
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Rochester.
It happened around 11:30 Monday night on Genesee Park Boulevard.
Police say the woman was in the center of the road when she was struck by a Hyundai traveling northbound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been determined.
The driver of the car remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police say no charges will be filed.
Genesee Park Boulevard was closed between Ernestine Street and Hillendale Street for most of the night, but has since reopened.
