Hit-And-Run victim still searching for answers

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - "I can't do anything right now.. and that's frustrating," said Stacy Avangelista.

Since Thursday, Avangelista has been in a hospital bed. Still in pain, but rightfully so - she calls herself a fighter.

"That's the last thing I remember. I woke up here at the hospital in the ambulance," she said.

Avangelista was crossing Goodman street around 4:30 on Thursday near the 490 overpass, when she was hit by a car.

"I was hit on the whole right side. So my abrasions ,everything are on my whole right side," she explained.

Police say there were three 911 calls phoned in, but only one witness came forward.
The witness allegedly saw a car drive over to Avangelista, who was lying in the road unconscious.

"A car pulled to the side, who had a broken wind shield, front end damage.  Got out of the car, walked around to see me, got back in their car and took off," she explained.

Police are still investigating the incident, but do not have a suspect at this time and have made no arrests. Due to the accident - Avangelista's life has turned upside down.

"I can't stand. I'm very limited I can't work. I'm self employed so if I don't work I don't get paid," Avangelista explained.

For now, she's unable to walk and will have to use a wheelchair to get around. Overall, Avangelista feels let down - there's still no closure. All she wants is someone to come forward.

"To know that there's possibly someone out there that can change this situation.. that's the only hope I have to cling on to right now," she said.

Anyone with information on this hit-and-run is asked to call Rochester Police.
