Henrietta man charged with DWI in fatal Mendon crash

MENDON, N.Y. (WROC-T.V.) - A Henrietta man has been charged with driving while intoxicated in a fatal crash in Mendon Monday morning.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the accident occurred around 8:00 a.m. near the corner of Boughton Hill Road and Hunt Club Road. 

Deputies say Aaron Bassage, 49, of Macedon, was driving a dump truck westbound on Boughton Hill Road. Louie Restivo, 47, was driving a pickup truck eastbound. Hannah Kline, 26, of Farmington, was driving behind Restivo.

Restivo turned left in front of Bassage and stopped in the roadway before entering a construction area in the grass. Deputies say Bassage tried to stop the dump truck and ended up striking Kline's vehicle. 

Kline was pronounced dead at the scene.

Restivo was arrested for DWI. He was not injured.

Bassage was not injured. Bassage was ticketed for operating out of class, operating out of restrictions, and brakes out of service.
