The 11th annual Fairport Music Festival will be held along Liftbridge Lane in the Village Friday and Saturday, August 28 and 29.
Festival hours are 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, and Noon to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Committee member Mike Guerrein and the Director of Community Affairs at Golisano Children's Hospital Stephanie Sheets discussed the event Friday on News 8 at Noon.
As they have from the start, proceeds from this year's Festival will benefit the Golisano Children's Hospital. The event has raised over $750,000 for the hospital since its inception, including nearly $135,000 last year.
Music and food will be the staple for this year's Festival. There will be four stages to accommodate the 32 bands set to play. The Talking Heads tribute band "Start Making Sense" will headline Friday's lineup. Saturday's lineup will feature "The Bodeans" who tour nationally. There will also be 25 restaurants and food trucks to satisfy everyone's palate.
The Fairport Music Festival is a family event, so there will be plenty of fun for the kids as well, including bounce houses, plus arts and crafts.
Tickets can be purchased for $15 at several Fairport merchant locations until midnight on Friday. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $20 on Saturday. Kids ages 12 and under are free.
