Eight people displaced after house fire on Ellison Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - The Rochester Fire Department has reported that at 3:51 a.m., firefighters were dispatched for a house fire at 57 Ellison Street.

Fire crews say they arrived on scene to find flames coming out of the attic in the back of the 2-story house. The occupants had been sleeping when the fire broke out, and neighbors pounded on the door to alert them to evacuate.

Fire crews say they quickly went to work and made an aggressive attack on the fire resulting in an excellent stop with the fire contained predominantly to the attic and roof.

According to firefighters, due to fire and water damage, eight people were displaced. There were no injuries reported.
