Dansville school custodian arrested on child pornography charges

DANSVILLE, N.Y. (WROC) - A former custodian at the Dansville Central School District has been arrested after sheriff's deputies say they found child pornography on his cell phone.

Kyle Webster, 21, is charged with two counts of felony possessing a sexual performance of a child.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, in October a teacher reported that there were inappropriate web searches done on her computer overnight.

The school's resource officer, also a Livingston County sheriff's deputy, determined Webster to be a suspect.

Investigators searched computers from the school and electronic devices from Webster's home. There were no illegal images found on the school computers, but images of child pornography were found on Webster's cell phone.

Webster is also charged with petit larceny. Deputies say he stole about $150 from a teacher's desk.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says there is no reason to believe any students were affected.

Superintendent of Dansville Central Schools Paul Alioto told News 8 that Webster worked the overnight shift, employed from September 11 to October 3 of 2017. Alioto also said Webster did not have any contact with kids and worked only in the high school.
