Colorado considers banning the sale of smartphones to kids

Would establish the nation's first legal limit.

DENVER, CO (WROC-TV) - Colorado officials have cleared the language of a proposed ballot measure that establish the nation's first legal limits on buying smartphones for children.

The move would ban the sale of smartphones to children younger than 13 and require cell phone retailers to ask customers about the age of the primary user of a smartphone.

The proposal needs about 300,000 voter signatures to make the 2018 ballot,
