ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - City leaders gathered at Rochester City Hall Friday morning to announce details of this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Mayor Lovely Warren joined the parade committee in revealing this year's parade honorees including Grand Marshall Michael McCarthy -- the former director of Safety and Security for St. John Fisher College -- and Honorary Marshall John Patrick Sullivan -- who has been the parade leprechaun for nearly 30 years.
Speaking Friday, Mayor Warren said, "This year's parade will be extra special because it falls on the actual St. Patrick’s Day holiday, March 17th. The parade is a great event for Rochester because it brings tens of thousands of people into our Center City and gives a chance to showcase all the great things that are happening here."
Once again, the St. Patrick's Day parade will be held in downtown Rochester next Saturday the 17th. News 8 is a proud sponsor; we hope to see you there.
