Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex to hold Empire State Cup

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - Over 2,100 ice hockey players and family members have come together this holiday weekend for the Empire State Cup. The event, which is put on by MyHockey Tournaments, will take place at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex and runs January 13-15. 
 
In total, 50 youth hockey teams will compete, of which 45 teams traveled in from all over North America.
 
This event attracts U.S. teams from New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Michigan, and Illinois; as well as Canadian teams from the Province of Ontario.
 
Based on the National Association of Sports Commissions Economic Impact Assumptions, this event will have an economic impact on the local community in the range of $475,000-$675,000.
