Bad weather hits Rochester, some people not altering their plans

People are out driving despite the bad conditions

Rochester, N.Y (WROC_TV) - Slippery conditions and icy roads didn’t stop Christopher Malcolm and Louie Maier from heading out tonight to catch the Amerk’s game.

"I am not worried about the weather. This is Rochester,” Malcolm said.

“I live right up the road, so I’m not too worried about it,” Maier said.

Hannah Hartman also braved the cold to catch the game, but was a bit more cautious.

"It seems like everything is going to freeze over. I know they've been salting. I’ve seen trucks out,” she said.

And that, even for Malcolm, is a great thing.

"Other drivers? Yes, they worry me because they could be scared or not used to [the cold].”

Meanwhile, there were some out tonight stocking up on groceries.

"We like to make sure we have enough supplies,” Cecilia Russo said.

Also for those who like to be prepared, the city of Rochester also has PlowTrax, you can pull it up on your smartphone and enter an address to see if a street has been plowed.

The map keeps track of 150 snow plows and updates every five minutes.
