American Medical Response offers free training for people in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - American Medical Response (AMR), who responds to emergencies in Rochester, has recently had crews responding to the countless emergencies around the nation, including the most recent emergency in Las Vegas. 

AMP and Medic West Las Vegas teams provided support with 66 ambulances and transported 141 patients earlier this week. 

In Rochester, AMR offers 55 ambulances, with additional support from Buffalo, Corning, Syracuse, and New York City. 
 
No matter how great the response of professional emergency responders, AMR recognizes the important role a trained bystander can play in saving countless of lives. Because of that, AMR offers a variety of training for citizens CPR, first aid and Stop-the-Bleed skills training. 
 
It only takes five minutes to learn hands-only CPR. So, community members of all ages are encouraged by AMR to join in learning how to recognize the signs of sudden cardiac arrest and perform compression-only CPR, as well as learn bleeding control skills which can stop life-threatening bleeding.
