19th Annual Ward Community Association honors MLK's memory

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - The Lighting Up the Neighborhood event will have Rochester locals will honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Saturday by lighting luminaries, lanterns, and flashlights. 

The event is held by the Annual 19th Ward Community Association.

Locals will honor MLK's memory and express solidarity with his values and his campaign against racism. 

19WCA wishes to focus on the importance of coming together as a neighborhood community to celebrate resilience and to join to participate and support one another. 

The event will kick off at the Arnett Library featuring performances by the 19th Ward MLK children's choir and guest keynote speaker Judge Maija Dixon. 

The Arnett Library is located at 310 Arnett Blvd. in Rochester.
