YEA! Operations Director Sara Bukowiec and YEA! alum Courtney Martin discussed the event Monday on News 8 at Noon.
Young Entrepreneurs Academy is a class that guides middle and high school students through the process of starting their own real business or non profit organization. It teaches them how to make a job, as opposed to take a job. They do budgeting, planning and production.
As part of the program, YEA! students will have the opportunity to learn from accomplished CEOs. Tuesday's session will include Naomi Silver, CEO of Rochester Community Baseball, Phil Pecora, CEO of Genesee Regional Bank, and Fred Sarkis, CEO of Pharmasmart, Inc.
Martin graduated from YEA! last spring. As part of the program, she developed a company called Secret Services for salon owners. Those interested in learning more, can email Martin at Secret.SS.Services@gmail.com to connect with her.
Tuesday's program will run from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. There will also be a CEO session Thursday, February 13 at SUNY Geneseo.
YEA! will also hold an Investors Roundtable in the spring and is currently receiving applications for next year's program. Click here for more information.
