Elaine Comarella, Hickok Center for Brain Injury CEO, and Mary Ortolani, Board President for the Hicock Center, discussed the event Friday on News 8 at Sunrise.
Comarella said the Hickok Center was established in 1989 to provide services to people with brain injuries. The Hickok Center's main office is located in Rochester, with a satellite office in Newark. People with either traumatic brain injuries or acquired brain injuries can receive assistance, with the main goal getting people independent and back into the community.
This will be the first Celebrity Bartender competition to benefit the Hickok Center. The celebrities will compete to amass the most tips, with the proceeds helping facilitate community outings for people with brain injuries. Comarella said it's important for them to get out and do the things they used to do.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle and some surprise guests too. Everyone is welcome, with no entry fee for the event.
