Three local experts - dental specialist Dr. Ellie Phillips DDS, chiropractor Dr. Sarah Pace, DC and family nutrition consultant Amy Nadelen - will team up for the first time to present The Momwise Series: Raising Healthy Kids. The discussion is meant to educate residents on the "top five things moms need to know" in order to positively impact the health, behavior and well-being of their children.
Area moms can attend a Momwise session at either the Perinton Recreation Center on Tuesday, September 24 (7:00 pm - 8:30 pm), or The Strong National Museum of Play on Saturday, October 19 (10:00 am - 11:30 am), where they can learn a simple and effective approach to oral care, how chiropractics can improve a child's behavior and attention challenges, and the benefits and ease of living an unprocessed, real-food lifestyle.
Phillips says that each speaker's area of expertise is closely integrated, and since the three each have children of their own, they have an understanding of what it's like to be a busy mom and can offer realistic ideas.

"We all want what's best for our families, but there are some tools that simply aren't given to parents in the standard practice of the dental, food and health care industries," said Phillips. "Our seminar will be dynamic because we'll focus on the connection between mouth and body health, and simple facts moms need to take into consideration to promote proper nutrition, exercise and oral care for their children."

The Momwise Series will address the following:
·How to stop a cavity in a child's mouth from getting bigger and even make it disappear
·Steps to give children a lifetime of cavity-free teeth
·How to use nutrition, exercise, and chiropractic care to significantly help a child with ADHD, learning challenges, anxiety, or sleep problems.
·How to use neurosensory exercises to boost a child's performance in the classroom.
·Discovery of secret ingredients hiding in seemingly healthy foods, which could be affecting a child's immune system.
·How to pack a pantry with "real food" filled with healthy ingredients that kids will enjoy.

Participants will receive informative handouts and worksheets, enjoy complimentary nutritious refreshments and goody bags, and have the chance to win family-focused raffle prizes (including a free consultation and products from the experts). Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore information and samples from a variety of health and wellness brand representatives before and after the seminar.
